HAYLING HEALTH SOCIETY – OVERWINTERING OF BOATS ON THE KENCH

The Committee have considered the overwintering on site of boats which are increasing in both number and size.

The trailer park is now a secure area with lock-controlled access.. Members are encouraged to park boats in the trailer park over the winter period.

For ribs and boats with short masts, the trailer park is now a suitable area for overwintering.

Three additional areas, aside from the trailer park, are allocated for overwintering boats. These are the upper green, the northeast parking area and the parking area on the east side of the lower green.

The Committee would like to see a more orderly parking of boats on the upper green which does not encroach on the marked-out parking areas for cars.

3 plans are attached which show the additional areas for overwintering boat parking which will apply from Autumn 2024 – these areas are in addition to the trailer park.

Members should note that overhead wires will not allow boats with tall masts to use the trailer park and the east side of the lower green.

Please note that the towbars for boat trailers should be positioned so that individual boats can be accessed and removed as shown on the parking plan.

Please would Members ensure that they park as close as possible to the boat next to them.

Members are asked to ensure that all boats overwintered on the site are launched by the weekend of the Kench clean-up, which this year is on Sunday, 26th May 2024.
